¿Dónde se encuentra instalado el ICP?

El Interruptor de Control de Potencia se encuentra alojado en el cuadro eléctrico de la instalación eléctrica de una vivienda o local. El cuadro eléctrico o de protecciones, como se denomina de manera técnica, se encuentra cerca de la puerta de entrada y salida de casa, cubierto con una tapa de plástico, y normalmente tiene varios interruptores o palancas.

La primera palanca que se encontrará el cliente al abrir el cuadro eléctrico será el ICP, palanca que verá bajada en caso de que se haya excedido la potencia eléctrica (punto importante para el rearme como veremos luego).

Por ello, todos los que aún cuenten con un contador analógico (la mayoría de los casos), seguirán manteniendo el Interruptor de Control de Potencia en su cuadro eléctrico, como hemos comentado anteriormente.

¿Por qué salta el ICP?

Si el Interruptor de Control de Potencia salta muy a menudo en una instalación, quiere decir que la potencia contratada en su suministro no es suficiente para su día a día; es decir, que en su vivienda se conectan demasiados aparatos a la vez, en comparación a la potencia contratada de la instalación.

Suele pasar frecuentemente a las familias que tienen aire acondicionado central, y usan el horno a la vez; dos aparatos que consumen mucha potencia al encenderlos juntos.

¿Cómo rearmo mi contador cuando salta el ICP?

El nuevo contador de tele medida, lleva el ICP incorporado. Cuando demandamos una potencia superior a la contratada, el contador suspende el suministro. Para reactivar el servicio, tenemos que seguir el siguiente protocolo.
